Increasingly, schools are seeking to engage parents. It is a national agenda with considerable significance. It would seem that schools know the importance of engaging parents, but frequently find it difficult to get parents into school, particularly those who are ‘hard to reach’. Parents as Learners (PaL) provides a solution to this barrier. PaL gives schools flexibility in meeting the varied needs of it’s parent group.
Parents as Learners comes in two formats:

Your school hosts a link to the programme on its website. Parents and carers then have direct access to PaL. They use the programme independently; at a time and place of their choice.

You invite parents and carers to attend facilitated sessions. The programme consists of twenty 45 minute sessions. PAL can be run in any setting (school, youth club, hall, home) with basic IT resources.
As a web based programme, PaL updates are instant. You will be able to access new versions simply.

As Pal is a web based programme, it can be updated on an ongoing basis to ensure it is always current.
The PaL parent guides are an invaluable resource. As a subsriber, they are yours to download and reproduce as many times as you wish. The list of subjects and languages is regularly reviewed and expanded.
